Dr. Pramod M. Padole, Director of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, is renowned for his unwavering commitment to morals and ethics. Since joining VNIT in 1988, he has excelled in various administrative roles, leveraging his strategic vision to advance the institution's long-term mission.
With a background in Mechanical Engineering, including a Bachelor's from VRCE and a Master’s from VJTI, Mumbai, and a PhD from VRCE, Nagpur, Prof. Padole specialises in Mechanisms, Machine Design, Finite Element Method, and Biomechanical Engineering. He has guided 17 Ph.D. research scholars and 50 M.Tech students. He has four patents and more than 160 research publications in reputed international and national journals to his credit.
Prof. Padole's impact extends beyond academia; he has undertaken research and consultancy projects funded by prestigious organizations, developing technologies for rural upliftment and medical advancements. Recognised with awards such as the "Academician Par Excellence" and the "S & T" Innovation Award, he is esteemed for his contributions to product development, technology transfer, and rural economic development.
As President of the Bio-medical Engineering Forum, Prof. Padole champions community-focused research, exemplified by his work on medical implants and rural technology. His leadership has elevated VNIT's profile, evidenced by its recent accolades, including the "Green Champion Award."
